On the subject of front brakes for a 2000 grand caravan sport, last summer I replaced mine with ceramic pads. This last weekend, the warning indicators started squeeling. I checked and wouldn't you know that they need replaced again! I got one whole year out of them - is that normal?? I doubt it. Also, the inside one on both sides worn the most. I have a feeling that I should have lubed something up and that possibly caused the pads not to return to their origional places when done braking, therefore dragging the pads and wearing them out. Anyone dealt with that before and what should I lube? Thanks!

Definitely lube the two bolts that secure each caliper, and the points where the pads make contact with anything. I lube the backs of the pads too, but this may be overkill. Use a proper brake lube that won't attract contaminants.
I had a problem with quick wear of my front pads (a set only lasted 8,000 miles), and it was because my REAR brakes were seized and I was braking only with the fronts. Antilock brakes mask this fault because they keep you from swapping ends under hard braking. Check this out before you go spending money on more front pads.

When I set the parking brake, that is the rear brake drum, right? It sets and releases correctly....

If the pads wore unevenly you must make sure the caliper is free to move on its slides or this will happen again. Also you did not say how many miles you put on in a year as time is of no consequence.
