Did the 2004 Dodge Durango come with or have the option of TPMS?
TPMS = Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Thanks!

I have a 2004 Hemi Limited and have not seen a TPMS on it. I did'nt see it in the manual either? I do have ESP and that was a 2004 option.

No TPMS on my 04 D!!!

Are the valve stems on the wheels rubber or metal-ish???
My Jeep has TPMS, and the stems are metal-ish. They're not flexible....tell ya that much...:)

The meta-ish one are a sure-fire sign there is TPMS on the car.

Although, some cars like, our Toyota Highlanders (pre '07) and the Sienna ( 99-02 ) use the wheel speed sensors to determine tire PSI and those stems were rubber!!!

Seems like it got programmed for TPMS during an ECU reflash. Somebody goofed up when they reflashed it for what ever reason. They should be able to reflash it for no TPMS. The light is on because its looking for sensor outputs, but there are no sensors...

The flash was due to a recall. The lighting in the dash was putting out too much heat and had caused several fires in the dash area. They reflashed it so the lights would be dimmer and produce less heat but the reflash also caused other problems like the CD changer not to work. They were also replacing dash board that couldn't be reflashed. Depending on when yours was done they may have replaced the dash with a newer model with the tire pressure sensor.

The one's that the flash didn'tr work were replaced. A dealer should have a record of the work that was done but the tire management system was not available in the 04 model. My limited has ever option that was available in 04 and that system wasn't available to my knowledge not that I would want it anyway; adds extra problems and cost when upgrading wheels.

Dodge4L1fe I can say with absolute certainty that the '04 D did not come with TPMS. It was not added as an option until at least the 2006 model year and possibly later than that. Dodge knew they'd be adding it as an option in future years so they made all 2nd Gen D's with the sensor light. The same as with the overhead console temperature sensor for the ATC. The driver's side sensor is there and there's a cutout for the passenger side sensor but there is no sensor for the passenger side. It wasn't added until later model years as well so there could be dual climate control.

Mystro: The 2004 D does not have ESP. It has traction control. There is a difference, although I do not know what the difference is. ESP wasn't available until 2006 or newer I think.
