Brake switch

The last month I have had some issues with my brake switch that contacts the brake pedal. The brake light would stay on everytime I start the truck and drive. I would have to tap the brake to make it go out but that wouldn't always work. It turns out that even when I take my foot off the brake pedal, my brake lights would still be on except for the third brake light (weird).
I finally got around to replacing the brake switch. It was pretty easy except you have to break the tab with the red locking slider on the old one to get it off the plug adapter. I guess thats why it says right on the switch "do not to reinstall". All is well now.

Glad it was a nice easy fix, sounds like one of the cheaper repairs too... :D

I had the same problem (brake switch) but opposite effect. The brake lights would not come on until the brake pedal was half way to the floor. Also, tapping the brake pedal with cruise control on would not disengage the set speed. Again, had to jab the pedal hard. Didn't find this out until the beginning of my road trip from GA to TX. Dealer in TX fixed under warranty and all is well.
