I use to own a Ford pick up with 2 fuel tanks. I was wondering if it was possible to add a second fuel tank on my 2002 Quad 1500? I don't really want to put a tank in the bed of my truck, I would prefer to put it underneath the pickup so it is out of site. Is this possible? I don't know if any of the Rams have this option or is it a Ford thing? Thanks

There aren't any factory options to my knowledge. One thing to look into is going up to a 34/35 gallon tank. Some members have done that swap from the 26 gallon.

If you wanted to put another tank in on the passenger side, you'd have to redo the exhaust. Another option would be to put it in the spare tire location. I've seen this on quite a few vehicles in Europe that need another tank or want to put on LPG.

Its been a while since Ford had dual tanks, I think 96 was the last year. Unless you have a 26 and change to a 34 I dont know of anything other than In bed styles for you. I looked for a Transfer Flow and all under the bed tanks were for Diesels.

That is a great idea. I have the 26 gallon tank and had no idea I could put in a 34/35 gallon tank. That will help out when I am towing my travel trailer and getting a whopping 8 miles to the gallon. I like the idea of not having to stop about every 200 miles to fill up. Thank you so much for the idea and I will definitely do some research on it. You guys rock!!

Their is Plenty of space on my LB for the 35 gal tank. the end of the tank, back side, is about 6-8" from touching the rear axle housing. their is plenty of space infront, cabside. the exhaust pipe takes up space on the Their is a company alot of fuel people talk about next to me in Corona, Ca. called Aero fuel tank. they deal with dodge tank upgrades.

So does anyone know of anyone who has done a successful 26 to 34 gallon tank conversion?

You gave me the link to these threads on the other 3rd gen ram Dogde formum. When you get this done, please let me know how it went and what needed to be purchased. I'd really like to do this. I'm going to call around to some junkyards and try and find the tank.
